**THIS POST ORIGINALLY APPEARED ON LINKEDIN NOVEMBER 22 AND WAS DELETED LESS THAN 30 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS POSTED**
📢 To non-melanated folks surprised by Friday’s verdict and seem to need a stream of wake-up calls:
Let me go ahead and catch you up.
KKKyle’s akkkquittal came as no surprise to Bl@ck #people. Even before the *heads-up* pre-announcement, we knew. We knew. Injustice has been served up to us regularly for as long as we’ve been here. Not our first rodeo.
Here’s what you need to know though about the significance of a yt person *getting off* for shooting and killing other yt people *caught* being on the *wrong side*—
🎯🎯🎯 Yt allies and supporters of Bl@ck people can be harmed or worse when yt suprem@cy deems them to be *N-lovers* or *r@ce traitors* or *sympathizers.*
The historical significance of Friday hearkens back to 1964. Bl@ck people have kept this memory alive in our collective consciousness even without the movie “Mississippi Burning.” The fate of the 3 young men you see pictured in this June 1964 FBI poster is part of that self-same #history that yt suprem@cy wants so desperately to suppress.
August 4, 1964– eleven days before my parents’ wedding—their dead bodies were found. I provide you with this detail so you know that r@cial terror is NOT part of a distant past. For Baby Boomers, it is a vivid yesterday.
“The bodies of James Earl Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Henry Schwerner were discovered by FBI agents near Philadelphia, Miss., on Aug. 4, 1964. The three men, civil rights workers who came south to register African Americans to vote, were shot to death sometime on June 21. Their Ford station wagon was torched and their bodies were bulldozed 17 feet under an earthen dam.”
❗️Let it sink in that yt suprem@cists deemed them worthy of death. They didn’t just kill the Bl@ck man and release the other two with a *stern warning.* No. They killed all. three. of. them.
James Chaney’s brother “[Ben] Chaney laid ultimate blame for the murders at the feet of an arm of the state #government in power at the time.”
“Agents of the commission spied on civil rights workers, harassed voter registration workers and developed watch lists of those thought to support civil rights.”

❓ How does this tie in to the #workplace?
Yt people operating *off-code* by supporting Bl@ck rights, #equity, #inclusion, etc. are being *punished* at work. There have been several yt people just within the past month alone who’ve shared with me their stories of termination and other forms of *getting them in line* for standing up in support of unfair treatment of Bl@ck or Brown #employees.
Their stories are not mine to share, so I leave you with this FACT which is just as applicable to #life at #work as it is to life outside of work—
🎯🎯🎯”The biggest domestic terror threat comes from wh(i)te suprem@cists.” (see source link below)
Pay attention to what’s happening.
It’s way past time to use discernment.

It’s not only infuriating. It’s unjust, disturbing and an incitation if not promoting home grown terrorism!
Exactly! The message that the verdict sends underscores all that we have seen and experienced since 2016 particularly–i.e., that there will be an escalation of racial terror and racial violence. \o/ tmr
I read this yesterday and commented PrioR to it being pulled.
I suspect that someone reported it because LinkedIn removed it not even 30 minutes after it was posted. They later reinstated the post without explanation later in the day Monday. It was not until Tuesday afternoon that they sent me a notification that they had pulled it in error and that the post does NOT violate their standards and policies. [insert eye roll] It appears that posts are presumed *guilty* and then investigated versus the other way around. \o/ tmr
This actually happened. It was in jet magazine . Why was it pulled!
Yes. The story was widely reported at the time. The image itself is the FBI flyer that was used to announce that the three were missing. I think the person who reported the post as offensive on LinkedIn did so because of the parallels I made to today and how what happens to our allies manifests in the workplace. \o/ tmr
